The show was so much fun for Annie and me! The weather was perfect, and everyone so happy to be there.
The division Annie and I entered was walk-trot. Pam, my trainer, suggested the walk-trot because we didn't have enough time to feel completely secure in Annie's collected canter. She said that it's good strategy to show a step below where you are training. A brilliant idea!
Annie had a Fairy-God-Sister in Amanda who offered to bathe and braid her! You can see how Annie shines and her braids look perfect. All because of Amanda's magic! The only issue for me was keeping myself and Annie calm and relaxed.
As we walked into the arena it was hard not to notice that the horses showing couldn't have been more different. Because a couple of horses scratched, there were only three of us. If we were Starbucks coffee one was a Tall, Annie was the Grande and my friend, Pauline's horse, Cash, was a Venti. I whispered to my friend, "We will all get ribbons!"
And we did! Annie rode like a champ. I was so proud. Afterward, everyone congratulated us as if we had won Olympic gold!
Dr Aletta,
Congratulations!! You and Annie look great.

You and Annie look spectacular! I'm sure you'll agree, when it is all said and done, it isn't about the ribbons, it is about that whole experience of getting there, isn't it? So gratifying... Keep up the great work!

Gratifying is an excellent word and describes the feeling completely. Thanks so much for the compliment! Annie and I truly appreciate it.
